It was November 2010. While hosting a conference in Ft. Worth, I reconnected with my dear friend, Brad Stewart. After dinner, he invited me to a rehearsal for his church choir.
When we arrived at the small church in Arlington, he asked me to come and sit in the choir.
I said, āBrad, I donāt sing.ā He said, āYou donāt have to. Just sit with us.ā
As they began to sing, I closed my eyes and there, in the middle of the choir, I felt āsurroundedā by the voices of angels.
The voices of God.
This became the inspiration for the song, Surround, on Bradās new album, āSaved From The Fire.ā It is one of a handful, Iāve had the honor of co-writing with my longtime friend.
It is with great pleasure that Bradley Jay Stewart is my guest on this weekās radio show. I know youāll be inspired by his story, as we premiere āSurround.ā

About Bradley Jay Stewart
April, Friday, 13, 1973ā¦ On that day, I performed for the first time in front of the packed auditorium of students at a large New Mexico high school. I felt like John Denver might have felt as I sang his hit song, Rocky Mountain High ā¦ The audience exploded into a standing ovation! I was hooked!
Iāve written many songs and performed in many placesā¦ From New York to Texas, at gatherings at drive-in theaters, eating and drinking establishments, churches, large and small. Even at a beach bar in Mexico. At present, in answer to my choice and honoring His callingā¦ I am leading the musical offerings at a small church in Texas.
My music is easy going, smooth flowing and heart filling. We pour feel-good words of the visiting of happy pursuits of life and love into our melodies ā¦ those we reach for and live to discover.. and experience againā¦ Enjoy this journey of the sounds of Spiritual Jazz ā and where it may take you.
