Infinite Wonder: The Scobee Education Center

Sonny chats with his special guest, Rick Varner, director of the Scobee Education Center, located on the campus of San Antonio College in San Antonio, Texas, (named in honor former SAC student and NASA astronaut, Francis R. (Dick) Scobee – Commander of the Space Shuttle Challenger’s final flight.)

It is also the home of the Challenger Learning Center, designed to take young students on exciting space missions in a fully-immersive Mission Control and Space Station.

How soon will civilians be able to travel in space? Is there life out there? If so, do you think they we can make contact? What is the Micronaut Program?

Also featured, are Scobee Planetarium Coordinator, Michelle Risse, and academic coordinator at the Challenger Learning Center, Heather Aguillon.

Explore Space In Your Space: The Challenger staff have populated 9 different Scobee digital badges at FutureReadySA.org and for families without internet we are printing the  Scobee to Go! translations of the digital activities as a community effort.  The hardcopy pages will be placed in areas where families can access them around the city and Heather should have a few who have agreed, like Girls Inc.
